Job Summary
This is looking for Junior software engineers with Java concentration and experience working in Unix/Linux environments to help make our customer-facing trading applications and back-end systems even better. This job is heavily oriented toward designing, building and optimizing trading and back-office applications.

Roles And Responsibilities
- Write client/server-side code for web-based applications, create robust high-volume production applications, and develop prototypes quickly
- Solve all problems that come your way
- Collaborate on scalability issues involving access to massive amounts of data and information
- Research, conceive and develop technology solutions to extend and improve IBKR’s client-facing and back-end applications
- Work closely with the engineering team based in other IBKR Offices in Europe and the US
Job Requirements
- A strong foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Ability to integrate into and work well within a global team
- Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Some programming experience in Web Technologies like PHP and AJAX
- Sound Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and other data storage solutions
- Proficient in one or more scripting languages like Perl, Unix Shell, Awk, or Python
